Hi! My name is Ginger Olansen. I am a free lance US artist. I work in a variety of media's: watercolor, oils, charcoal, pastels, paint on linen/silk, glass/marble and ceramic tiles. I am a muralist, faux finish furniture, lecture, do live art demos and teach art publicly and privately. I also enjoy photography and the computer. I also create animations using Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop and many other graphic software. Part of my artwork is also commercial computer art, ads and logos as requested.
At the age of 4, my first oil painting was complete and I only wish I had it today! I believe it is important to learn and experiment with every media and technique available that one has time for! You will notice there is a wide variety in my work. I also try making each media look like another, once done well, it means I have mastered that media and ready to move on.
I graduated from Adelphi University with a 2 year BA degree in Fine Arts, a Computer Science degree, a BS in Business Communications by 1985. I also completed 1/2 of a Master Degree in Busines Administration and Finance in 1986 but did not complete the degree. As a teenager, I studied with numerous artists as well as The Roslyn School of Painting. From time to time I work for The Village Artist of Huntington.
I have sold my work in the US from Connecticut down to Florida primarily on the East Coast as well as in Canada. I have done mural work for the Catholic Church in Georgia. I have been President of many art clubs, worked for numerous craft stores throughout the years and lecture on many subjects including "Drawing on the Right Side of The Brain" by Betty Edwards as time permits. For future art shows please contact me.
If you are interested in any of my work or would like me to do custom work for you (I travel throughout the US), please see the email button on the bottom of the page to contact me. My work can be bought as originals as well as prints on canvas or on high quality paper. Please DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING FROM THIS SITE except (Animations) without MY PERMISSION due to copyright laws.
