Hi! My name is Ginger James Olansen. I am a free lance US artist. I work in a variety of media's: acrylic, watercolor, oils, charcoal, pastels, and paint on linen/silk, glass/marble, ceramic tiles and wood. I am a muralist, custom faux finisher, lecture, do live art demos and teach art publicly and privately for all ages. I have sold work in the US from Connecticut to Florida primarily on the East Coast as well as in Canada. I have done mural work for a Catholic Church, numerous store fronts and many walls/fireplaces in private homes. I have been President of many art clubs and love lecturing on "Drawing on the Right Side of The Brain" by Betty Edwards. I also enjoy photography and the computer. I create animations using Corel Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop and other graphic software. Part of my artwork includes commercial computer art, advertisements and logos as requested.
I graduated from Adelphi University with a BA degree in Fine Arts, a Computer Science degree, and a BS in Business Communications by 1985. I partially completed a Master Degree in Business Administration in 1987. I studied wth the Roslyn School of Painting for 4 years and with numerous artists and been in numerous art shows over the years. I worked for The Village Artist of Huntington, NY, as well as other art studios, ceramic and craft stores. Some of my work was published in a magazine show casing my hand painted linen and glassware. I owned a hand painted linen shop where I co-ordinated bed, bath/table ensembles and glassware decor for any room. I have been lucky enough to have one photo published in a book that I took in Hawaii. I am retired in Virginia. I love painting in a "pointilism" style creating water scenes near the James River. I still teach privately.
